The Settles consider the kitchen the home's masterpiece. In lieu of solid, light-colored cabinets to match the logs throughout the home, Paula wanted black distressed cabinets with glass fronts to showcase her crystal. A few antique scales from Danny's collection decorate the top of the cabinetry. A subdued granite-topped island provides plenty of space to prepare meals, cook and gather with friends. "The kitchen is exactly what I envisioned," Paula says. "It's warm and functional. I can have six or seven people in there, and no one is stumbling over each other." |
